Uli Stein is Germany's favourite cartoonist and the most successful cartoonist in Europe. Uli Stein was born in Hanover in 1946. After obtaining a degree in education from the university in Berlin, he worked as a freelance journalist, photographer and comedy scriptwriter for radio broadcasting prior to embarking on a career as a cartoonist. His humour gained the attention of various major magazines in the eighties. Since then, his cartoons have appeared in over 100 European magazines and periodicals. His characters with egg-shaped eyes and cucumber-shaped noses, his cats, dogs, penguins and, above all, his sassy mice have all become trademarks.
